Advocating at the national level
The innovative nature of the work of EYIN meant there was demand for their publications and resources in other states. EYIN hosted the first National Forum on Refugee Young People in 1993 with the support of the Australian Multicultural Foundation. In 1994, in recognition of EYIN’s unique expertise, the organisation was appointed to the Federal Government Settlement Advisory Committee. The following year, EYIN made a number of presentations to national forums on youth justice issues and housing issues, including the keynote address at the National Summit on Police and non-English speaking background young people.
